THE TOOWOOMBA ROYAL SHOW 2018

12TH – 15TH Of April are dates to put in your diary – it’s ShowTime once again in Toowoomba.  Dating back to the 1860s when the foundation bodies of the Darling Downs Agricultural Society and Drayton and Toowoomba Agricultural and Horticultural Society had been formed

The importance of Toowoomba in the national agricultural scene can be judged by the fact that the Darling Downs R.A.S was the first established in the newly formed state of Queensland and the fifth in the whole of Australia.  The Brisbane R.A.S. was not formed until 15 years later.  In 1985 the Society moved to its current Glenvale site, home to some of the regions largest and highly regarded events.  The purpose built showgrounds area encompasses 245 scenic acres and houses 12 pavillions and is considered to be regional Australia’s premier event centre.

Nowadays the Toowoomba Royal Show is not only a showcase for the farming community but also avenue full of other interesting and fun things to do and always attracts huge crowds to the many and varied exhibits, competitions, fairground rides, fireworks and market stalls.

Toowoomba accommodation is usually heavily booked during Show Time so if you haven’t already book yourself somewhere soon before all the accommodation is gone!
