Slava and Leonard Grigoryan, acclaimed guitarists, have written a suite of music inspired by 18 artefacts individually chosen from the rich collection of the National Museum of Australia, which traces our unique and complicated past.
“This Is Us” transports viewers from the distant history of early Indigenous Australians to the formation of current Australian society. Complemented by high-definition moving projections of various items, the compositions include a convict love token, a lifebuoy from the Tampa, and Sir Donald Bradman’s legendary cricket bat.
The Grigoryan Brothers will be seen and heard as never before, incorporating all their influences from classical to jazz and modern music and performing on various guitars.
